1.) God Factor:
I believe that God has brought me this far for a reason, and I know he will take me further, I know God is with me, this is always at the forefront of my mind. After the death of Jesus and Ascension, The Spirit of excellence and the oil of His grace was sent into the heart of all them that believes.
With this mindset, I can stand confidently; I know the best is meant for me. Peace is meant for me, Rest is meant for me.
God loves me! and that puts me ahead!
2.) Be A Learner:
How can you ever know, if you are not told? How would you get better if you don’t give yourself to learning, learning from anyone.
I spent most of my time reading and practicing everything I wanted to get better at, I remember times when I was at the library, reading and trying to understand Java, gosh! It was so confusing, but I didn’t stop! How could I stop? I wanted to learn java, I spoke to anyone about what I was learning, I even taught it to some people without ever writing a code, because teaching is one of the best way to learn.
3.) Give Your Best - Be Right Standing
Surely the righteous will never be shaken;
they will be remembered forever. — Psalm 112:6
A righteous man is a person that is right standing in the sight of God, So in an office, doing the right things at the right time, will not get you shaking when it is time for confrontation.
As a software engineer, you have to also know the reason why you are told to do anything, ask questions and be critical with every choice you make, ensure it is the best; Be a team player, don’t be so isolated, make research before you conclude and seek for help if you are confused.
If you are able to do this, your colleagues won’t find a reasonable fault in you.
There is no need to fight, your good works will stand for you.
4.) Give Power So The Power Can Return To You
Respect is reciprocal.
Give respect and honor to everyone, because they deserve it, we are all working hard to be better people, some of us are more lost than others.
We are humans and we try!
I have so many stories to why we should respect everyone, but I’ll find a way.
One reason a person will fight against you is because you are a threat, you have taken what they want, sometimes these kind of people need love, they want you to be their friend, don’t always fight back.
Sometimes you’d win an argument with and apology.
And once you have apologized, you have made a friend!
Give power by asking for their help, let them feel powerful. they need it, and you may need it to get on their good side, because you don’t need to fight all the time.
5.) Reduce your words.
Control your tongue…
We have so many loud mouths in every office, people that will pour their thoughts all over your face and can not make a single action, don’t be among them.
You’ll only overwork yourself by saying ‘YES’ to everything, you weren’t hired to only work and fill yourself with activities, but to also think to make better decision, your next salary increase would be more significant if you become a better thinking, than an “over sabi” kind of person.
More work doesn’t necessarily mean more money, but a better thinker would maximize the time and effort to yield more profile.
There are a lot of dos and don’ts in the world, but if you want to live a perfect life
Seek God first, then you’l never a make mistake in your life again.
